Each year, our barge was chartered to carry 100,000 MT of Palm Kernel Shell to Thailand. Palm kernel shell or popularly known as PKS, serves as an attractive renewable energy fuel due to its abundance in Malaysia, Indonesia and south Thailand. PKS is fibrous material and can be easily handled in bulk form. It is usually shipped in containers (for small quantity) and if in large quantiy, by barge.
Due to the light nature of PKS, it takes good loading skills to maximize the barge size. During transit, there is also chance of cargo loss if it is not properly covered with tarpaulin. As a reputable barge owner in Malaysia, we have the expertise to handle and load PKS using our barges.
